Ballot Holy War

Four days after Egyptians overwhelmingly voted in favor of constitutional changes intended to usher in a new democratic era, and upon hearing that the amendments had passed, popular television preacher Muhammad Hussein Yaqub rejoiced at what he called the “ballot box raid,” using an Arabic term denoting the military raids against infidels in early Islamic history.
